Map into Airtable with care

  1. Paste the payload and select Check payload. Fix any JSON syntax errors first.
  2. Use paths such as $.customer.email and $.items[0].name to find the value you want in Zapier or Make.
  3. Match the value to the Airtable field type, then test with a disposable record before switching on the workflow.

Empty strings and nulls may clear an existing field. Numeric fields usually need numbers rather than quoted numbers, while postcodes, phone numbers and IDs should often stay as text to preserve leading zeroes.

Use YYYY-MM-DD for dates, or an ISO date/time with an explicit timezone when the receiving step needs one. Date-like values and date/time field names are checked heuristically. Convert UK dates here.

For a single-value field, select one array item or join its text intentionally. Linked record and multi-select fields may need arrays instead. These are mapping hints; this tool does not know your Airtable schema or change your payload.
